The Burren

The Burren

Bare grey limestone for miles, with flowers growing out of the cracks in it. It looks like nowhere else in Ireland and people are never quite ready for it.

The edge of the Burren where the limestone meets the Atlantic

Caherconnell Stone Fort is out here, and it runs sheepdog demonstrations. Doolin Cave is on the edge of it. Between those, the roads themselves are half the point, and they are narrow enough that you will be happier in the passenger seat.

Check opening times and admission directly with each place. I will not print times I have not verified.

What I would do with you

A three hour loop covers the limestone, a stone fort stop and a viewpoint or two without rushing. A full day lets us add the Cliffs and still sit down for lunch.

Tell me your dates and I'll price it.

Everything I do is booked ahead, so the price is agreed before you get in and there is no meter running. WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach me.
